Welcome to Cotton Creek Barn. We are family owned and family ran. We spent around 2 years building most of Cotton Creek Barn by ourselves. When coming out to the barn you know that you are taken care of because Cotton Creek Barn is our 2nd home. We welcome you with open arms and hope you enjoy all that it has to offer. We can’t help but sometimes dream that we live in the Hill Country where the trees are abundant. So we decided to create our own little oasis in the middle of New Home, TX that sometimes makes us feel like we are living the dream… but we really are! Cotton Creek Barn has been a blessing to us in so many ways. We are so very thankful to be able to call this place ours.
Mr. Kent & Mrs. Mitzi Bruton are the owners of Cotton Creek Barn. Kent, a farmer in the area for over 40 years and Mitzi, a teacher in the area over 20 years are the reason Cotton Creek Barn is what it is today! Thank goodness Mitzi got tired of all those crazy kids and wanted to do something else! Somehow she was able to convince Kent that her idea of a wedding venue would go over well and after years of talking about, they finally put some plans into action. The proposal of their oldest daughter, Natalie, also helped quite a bit!
At Cotton Creek Barn you will most likely meet Mrs. Natalie Wied, daughter of Kent & Mitzi. She will be the one you meet with, call, and do all the fun planning things with. You may have heard the story, but yes this barn was built for her (or so we let her think…). Ryan & Natalie had the first wedding at Cotton Creek Barn on July 20, 2013 and we haven’t stopped since. When you drive out to the barn you will realize very fast that New Home, TX is primarily a farming community. The Barn is located in right in the middle of a cotton field. So you can only imagine how we came up with our name. The area where the barn is now was a farming equipment lot for many, many years. The old wood that completes Cotton Creek Barn was gathered from the original New Home Cotton Gin, abandoned barns and farm houses, and fences from all over the community. The door leading to the kitchen is original to the first New Home School ever built. We hope that you enjoy all the signs and paraphernalia around Cotton Creek Barn. Many of the signs have been found and saved over the years from chemical companies or anything having to do with Cotton.
Cotton Creek Barn was built on love and trust like any great relationship. At Cotton Creek Barn when you say I DO, you will know that you are starting your life together on a great foundation.
Thank you,
Kent, Mitzi, Ryan, Natalie, Audra, and Grayson
